Newcastle West

A mere 10 minutes from The Devon Inn Hotel, Newcastle West is located on the banks of the Arra River, it is an expansive town, with lots of green and leafy spaces that make for relaxed and enjoyable visit. 

The town is renowned for an incredible shopping experience with many boutiques, Newcastle West has steadily built a reputation for fashion and style and is now a destination town for fashionistas. The ever expanding area grew up around the beautiful Desmond Castle, which is located just off the town square and to this day remains the most notable historical feature of the town; having been recently restored, the castle is open to the public for guided tours May to September. The Castle grounds also sport almost 100 acres of gardens along with all-weather sporting grounds and a children's play area.

A mere 30 minutes from The Devon Inn Hotel, Adare, abounds with a rich history and a strong heritage, which remain ever present in its monuments, its thatched cottages, its streets and its people.

The many boutiques stock leading high street labels and many of them have carried out extensive improvements to their premises to cater for the increase in interest in shopping for fashion in Adare.
